Columbus Art Scene

Welcome to Columbus, the “Independent Art Capital of the World.” Don’t believe it? Take a stroll through the Short North, where dozens of galleries highlight the talents of fresh, emerging artists. Or head downtown, where the Columbus Museum of Art showcases homegrown painters alongside the grand old masters. Nearby, the OSU Urban Arts Space is a 10,000-square-foot exhibit space dedicated solely to student and faculty visual art. Situated on the OSU campus, the architecturally arresting Wexner Center for the Arts draws raves by showcasing work from the globe’s most talked about artists. Even the suburbs attract attention, as is the case with Grandview’s cutting-edge Junctionview Studios.
